Constructing an Inference

We continued to practice making inferences today whild we read a wordless picture book. As a group students made inferences to write a story to go along with the pictures. We had a lot of fun making the story and students had a better understanding of how to make inferences.

Students were taught to make and inference by using what they already know and what they read in a story. Students were taught to use clues in the passage such as what the characters say or do. Once we practiced making inferences, we then read through a passage together and made inference based on the story. This is a skill we will continue to work on throughout tutoring.
